Hi i am trying to create multiple story buildings however i place the stairs and put the floor down on the second floor and it covers the whole floor even over the stairs there is no gap to enter when you are coming up the stairs any one know how to fix this.

Hi locky09,

The way we create multiple story buildings in the game is by creating a copy of the second floor elsewhere in the level, placing a region trigger around it and using the stairs as a teleporter. i.e., true "two story" buildings are not possible due to the way our pathfinding works.

1) create first story of your building, place a stairs and a point trigger in front of the stairs
2) create second story of your building somewhere outside your level, place a region trigger around it and place another stairs with a point trigger in front of it
3) in the "OnUseActions" property of both stairs, add a teleport action to the other stairs' point trigger

don't forget to add another AI seeder to the second story of your building and regenerate the AI grid

did what you said then when my test character clicks on the stairs a woosh sound comes but nothing happens i put the targets and source in the m_target box grrr any videos

you need to use the point trigger's GUID in the teleport UseAction, which you can find and copy from the sidebar if you have the trigger selected

got it to work but how do i make it so you dont see outside the second floor and make it invisible from the main map

Place a Region trigger around the area of the 2nd floor.

Hopefully this isn't considered necro'ing a thread but I can't seem to find "OnUseActions" for stairs anywhere on the sidebar. Is it only available for certain stairs?

Any stairs with "dynamic" in their name should work.
