When I first enter the Fort Joy dungeon I didn't engage the dock encounter with 2 magisters and the boy because I was scouting the area, and I thought this game encourages exploration and immersion. Well, when I came back they are gone, so I missed out on 1600 exp and a unique shield, in early game. So it's ok to skip quests with shitty random rewards, as long as you charge into encounters and kill NPCs you still have more exp and guaranteed good loots. Nice game design.

This game tries to emulate the atmosphere of pillars of eternity with better visuals, but with laughable story line (there was a faint attempt of creating the typical dark and depressing atmosphere in Fort Joy with tragic NPCs but they are all too generic and hackneyed)
and ofc, meme tier quests that take about 30 s to resolve. Truly a step back from the first game, which also has a bad story.
The game is also easy on Tactician so missing exp and good loots is just the minor annoyance cherry on top of the bland story.
