I'm having issues with getting the crime system to work. My object has the owner id set to the NPC. The NPC has the CRIME_HumanReactions script attached. I steal the item in-game and the NPC doesn't do anything. What am I missing? =(

Some answers are known; some you need to figure out and share with the group.

The item is literally sitting 2 feet in front of him. The item shows up as "Stolen" in the thief's inventory. The owner of the item, just stands there. =(

I know there are a couple of things to add in order for the Crime script to work for attacking an NPC unprovoked. I had to also add a tag like 'CIVILIAN' to the NPC I was attacking and set the alignment to some form of neutral. The NPC being stolen from may also need a certain tag in order to react to crimes in the desired manner.

So your NPC that was being stolen from had some form of Neutral alignment or the thief had some form of neutral alignment?

And as far as the tags go, I've tried : HUMAN, GUARD, BADASSCIVILIAN, NOT_MESSING_AROUND, as well as every tag related to trader/merchant.

Try creating your own tag that says 'CIVILIAN' on the person being stolen from. For some reason these tags were not showing up by default in our shared distribution.

Can someone give a quick intro how to Setup crime? Maybe someone can add a wiki entry? - I played around but didnt really work out well.

In specific I want to avoid someone going upstaris to 2nd Floor while a specific NPC is still present.
