I believe there is an easter egg right at the beginning of the game when you wake up on the ship - the greening skull that you can interact with lying on the shelf next to you. I believe the dialogue says that its not so talkative or something similar. And in which game there was a rather talkative skull greeting a guy waking up? Planescape Torment, of course!
Considering that Chris Avellone worked on the game I don't think this is accidental at all. ^^
