Let say you are in the back of the enemy already :
3-4 ap to turn invisible (don't remember how much), THEN you can use backstab +40%guerilla.
You did in total 140% of your damages, that's crazy good.
Meanwhile, an other rogue, already in the back of the enemy too, will have enough AP to attack 2-3 times. For 200% and 300% damages (because he attacked multiple times)
Sneaking is weak in combat (and outside), guerilla is not worth the pain and the ap. Just get poly and turn invisible for only 2ap.
Or build a 2h barbarian of doom and destroy the concept of sneaking.
This is not quite correct.
Sneaking in combat is much better than invis if you have mobility like flight.
If there is a lot of high ground like in the Act 1 Alexandar fight you can just keep flying around and sneak while your invis is on cd (which is quite long with 6 turns).
This might not be practical for attacking out of stealth because sneaking costs 4 AP and flying 1 ap (you still can use it with Flesh Sacrifice and Adrenaline) but it can get you out of very sticky situations and in the ideal case you combine it with invis anyway and heal up your phys and magic armour on the side so you are fit to fight full turns in between.
Ofc as you say it's not worth wasting a talent on this and if you can outdamage the enemies it is better than sneaking.
