Currently group level 19, chose 'Comeback Kid' for all my characters a couple of levels ago.

Am I missing something? I thought it would be automatic, when a character dies, they pop back up with 20% life, yeah!....But that's NOT the case, my characters just stay dead. Is there some spell or trigger or something?

Thanks.

Whenever your character "resists death," it means comeback kid triggered.

It prevents them from dying once per battle, if I remember correctly.

Note that in many cases, they'll resist death but then instantly die to something related, such as barrels exploding around them, or environmental effects that immediately affect them anyway.

But you should still see the "resisted death" pop up.

Most of the talents is worthless. Even so with comeback kid on tactician.

yea, mostly the enemy attacks twice. while you survive the first shot, the second will kill you.

Only very heavy tanks with a shit ton of HP should take this talent

If you actually died and were resurrected after 1 turn then it would be good. Then you could combine it with talents that make you blow up on death and res with full health. Yes, I know that would be powerful, but these are talents we're talking about, you don't gain them every level. Pillars of Eternity has items and talents that proc on death (or unconscious in that game ) and allow you get back up. At the moment this talent is another way of saying you get 20% HP once per encounter (is it per battle?).

I've only seen "resisted death" once on one of my characters.

I can only imagine that what's happening is that the amount of HP damage being done is larger than the amount of HP left AND regenerated...Like if it was a chain of actions that first kills the character, then after the regen also wipes out the supposed 20%. Which sucks!

This is an example of how I'd have thought it would(SHOULD) work...Let's say it's round 4 in a battle, an enemy is up and they send an AoE attack that has a chaining effect (initial damage, then further damage via environmental effects). The initial damage killed one of your characters and while it's dead, there's the further environmental damage (while your character is just a ghost). The enemy then uses up their remaining points to cast a self-shield (or whatever) and then their turn is over...Upon the start of the next turn, is when Comeback Kid procs and your character comes back with the 20% life.

Now THAT makes more sense to me.
