Hey all,
I was looking for some help, since I'm not the most creative person with suggestions for a druid class!
This would be a polymorph based class that will let you change into things like a Bear, Voidwoken, Wolf, or any other animals in the game (bunny!?) with associated skills/talents/abilities with those animals.
I know how to do this, as it's functionally the same as the Dragon Knight class that I've been modding (see here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1156169273)
What I lack, is imagination - can anyone help me with suggestions for the types of animals to change into and the kinds of abilities you'd like to see?
Current Ideas:
Animals: Wolf, Bear, Condor, "demon grunt", Dog, Crocodile, Crab, Chicken, Cat.
Everything has a melee attack obviously, but also different armor/vitality scaling - range/damage, movement, etc. I'd like to somehow incorporate some way buff the group or offer ranged.

Honestly I'm in the opposite boat. I've got a bunch of ideas for skills but am brand new to the modding scene. Struggle bussing my way towards learning the Divinity 2 Engine.
Here's some ideas - Could have the forms either grant a bunch of strength, or grant strength based on (polymorph / summoning / whatever the mainstat is for these) skill level, or swap Int with STR for duration. In any case most should give bonus to an offensive stat.
Bear Form - small movement penalty, small buff to armor, large vitality buff Grants "Swipe" skill - scales w/ STR, it's a cleave like Cripple Grants "Thick Fur?" skill - Restores Armor/Magic Armor to self (similar to the shield skill)
Wolf Form - small movement buff, normal HP/armor Grants Guerrilla talent Grants "Throat Bite" skill - scales with STR, applies Suffocation and Bleeding to one target Grants "Stalk" skill - 3 turn invis, slower movespeed while invis.
Crocodile Form - normal speed, large armor buff, normal HP Grants large bonus to preservance Grants "Snap/chomp?" skill - scales w/ STR, High Dmg & applies Cripple to one target.
Bunny form - large movement buff, normal Armor, small vitality penalty, Grants dodge chance Grants Duck Duck Goose talent Grants "Hop" skill - Movement skill like tactical retreat
Condor form - normal speed/hp/armor, Grants flying for the duration Grants Favorable Winds Aura for duration Grants "Eye Rake" skill - scales w/ STR, hits twice and applies Blind to one target. (resisted by physical armor).
Just some ideas. What do you think?

Thanks for the reply! Great ideas, I'll work on some of those abilities!
I've made the druid class and will be releasing it today
It currently has:
Bear - basic tank and melee Wolf - basic dps with some extra abilities Crocodile - mixed tank/dps - lower movement Owl - super mobile Spider - dps with lots of movement impairing effects Turtle - really tanky w/ support skills Crab (a bit of a joke...it's tiny but super overpowered damage but has no movement) Dragon - big! lots of AOE that can apply statuses - extra AP and damage.
Still optimizing some things, each class has unique and appropriate skills and buffs (armor/speed/movement/damage/etc) but I haven't figured out how to add talents to the forms yet.
There's a special shapeshifting 'form' I'm going to work on adding in tonight I think - Voidtouched Shapeshifting. Will give you maybe a few voidwoken to change into with appropriate skills (the one ability will give access to multiple shapeshifting forms!).
I could really use some more inspiration though! I've gone with the obvious for the most part. Turtle/Bear are tanky - wolf/spider are damage - owl has lots of movement - croc has extra damage and tankiness but less movement, Dragon is awesome for applying statuses and AOE.
I'd like to add a cat - make it act like a rogue I'd like to add a pig with a crown - No ideas what skills to give it to differentiate it though! Possibly adding a cow - very meaty tank with tons of vitality but not sure what else?
I've pretty much covered all of the natural roles...tank/dps/specialized -- missing ranged dps though, and not really sure how to incorporate it!

Boar would probably be a good one.
Would you release your skills for GM mode?

That kinda sucks. I guess it would have to be two separate mods with the GM version being just skills.
I keep getting beat down by the limitations of GM mode so much I might just give up.

I did not use them, I didn't really know how to differentiate them from the wolf - any suggestions? The only ideas I had were giving them vault/stealth/cloak&dagger as skills.

Not sure if you can make the backstab but I would make them basically the same but dex with a slash instead of bite.

I'd like to add requirements to using the forms I created, e.g. Bear Form requires 2 in polymorph
How can you do that? I currently only have it so that the skill books require that to learn, but once it's learned I do not know how to add requirements. I tried making it a master tier skill, but that didn't work. I'm sure it's simple and I'm just missing something obvious.
Thanks!

So in the regular game when I lose a required stat the skills. Had memorized show I can no longer use them. I dont know if this is automatic or extra scripting.

Hey! Loving the mod On suggestions... maybe forms that are specific to certain elements giving them high resistances and strong elemental spells? Like fire slug (fire), artillery plant (poison),... For putting requirements on them. I think you're looking for "MemorizationRequirements"? It's a stats column in the SkillData stats. Dimensional Bolt for example has "Summoning 1" and Acid Spores has "EarthSpecialist 3". Sincerely, Kevin

Wow, thanks Kevin! It's all because of your excellent tools! I hope they keep developing so we can create even better content.
I appreciate the suggestions! I was actually going to add those in tonight - Frog (w/ water skills and resists) Fire Slug (w/ fire and resists) struggling with what creature to use for Aero...
I want to add the requirement for those elemental forms to have some of Aero, hydro, pyro, etc - hence why I was asking!
I had an issue last night: I was trying to add tree form to look like the ghost tree, but when I polymorphed into it, instead it just changed the material/texture on the character to the ghost material/texture - then when the form expired, the character model disappeared!! Any tips?
Also - I can't get the scaling to work with polymorph - I created a new root template with a tree scaled to 0.3 and then linked that GUID to the skill, but when polymorphing into the tree it was still full size.

Thanks <3 we hope to be able to keep helping you guys create awesome content. And awesome But aero is indeed a difficult one Maybe one of these? - Lizards_Male_Djinn (Not really an animal, but not really a normal lizard either and the wind floating fits perfectly) - Creatures_SwenBird_A_Phoenix - Condor Sincerely, Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Any ideas about the issues I was having with the tree form in the previous reply? Also I tried making the Lizard_Male_Djinn the air elemental form, but the body would not load when polymorphed, would just be hands, head, and swirly leg portion.
Do you know why some models work, but others do not as Polymorph Result?
