I decided to try DOS2 again to see if months of patches might have resolved the stuttering.
I seem to be running the game pretty good now. There are multiple things that I have done to get it running smooth. I'll list them here. What I think actually has helped the most is joining the Windows 10 insider preview program and upgrading to the Fast build (currently 17115).
Things I did:
1. Set my mouse polling rate to 125Hz. (Was 1000Hz.) I don't think DOS2 likes high poll rate gaming mice.
2. Change nvidia driver setting "preferred monitor refresh rate" to "application controlled". Then set the game to 2560x1440 @ 100Hz to limit the fps to 100. (Fullscreen) I have a 144Hz gsync monitor and I don't think the game likes high gsync'd fps. It seemed to stutter more when the fps got up over 120.
3. Upgraded to Windows 10 insider 17115 fast build. I've read that there were big changes to how windows handles memory and processor usage in this build. It seems to have helped a lot. I think Windows 10 is now letting the game use more of the processor than before.
4. Enabled "game mode" for DOS2 using Windows 10 game bar. They say it should help by allowing the OS to focus more on the game, so why not try it?
EDIT: Ahhhhh screw this, now today its back to being a stutter fest. I changed nothing since last night when it was playing great. What a pain.
EDIT2: After restarting a few times, it magically seems smoother. Maybe I just need to keep restarting until it feels like cooperating.

Hello all. I just purchased DOS2 and found myself in the same boat as most of you guys.
In the very first scene in the bowels of the boat, simply panning/rotating the camera around results in large stutters every second or two. Big nasty stutters, where whats on screen can jump quite drastically. Enough to make my head spin.
I have a 4670k @ 4.4 and a 1060 6gb. Looking at the stats via Afterburner, both my CPU and GPU are floating on around 20% usage, so they are not being taxed at all. Also my frame counter is a rock solid 60fps with 16.6ms frame times. And yet I see this grim stuttering. I'm playing with a controller, so the tips regards mouse sensitivity dont apply in my case.
Things ive tried:-
- running the game at the lowest settings at 720p - disable in-game vsync and use the driver vsync instead - rivatuner to limit frame rates to 60 and 59.94 - all combinations of double/triple buffering - windowed and fullscreen
Nothing makes the slightest bit of difference.
Im so gutted... as I was very much looking forward to this. I know there is no solution, so im not sure why im posting this! But figured I should throw my hat in the ring anyway.

I know you said you are using a controller, but check this anyways: Do you use a gaming mouse that has a very high polling rate? Try to use the mouse manufacturer software to lower the polling rate to 125Hz. I've read a lot of posts saying that this helped them.

I have the same issue, camera stutter. BUT ONLY ON ONE OF MY PCs. See below. PC 1 specs - no stutter https://imgur.com/a/kks7fPC 2 specs - stutter https://imgur.com/6tK9bKNThey both have the same gaming mouse so the polling rate is not the problem (yes i still tested it). I also tried turning off steam cloud on PC 2. Didn't make a difference. Differences between both PCs: PC 2 has a dedicated sound card, PC 1 is onboard. PC 2 has a razer mechanical keyboard, PC 1 has G.SKILL mechanical keyboard. I unplugged they keyboard and shut down the razer synapse, it didn't make a difference. PC 2 has a 1440p 144hz monitor. PC 1 has a 1080p 144hz monitor. Next step is going to be to compare background apps between the systems. Any ideas are appreciated.

Strange, another Core i5 4690K with stutter? I have that exact processor, too. Also a 144Hz Gsync 1440p monitor.
What I have noticed is: I start the game and test to see if there is bad stutter (test by clicking Options and watching the panning animation back and forth). If there is bad stutter, I shut the game down and just start it back up again. I do nothing different and the game is much smoother, no stutter. Its like the game doesn't initialize something properly or the OS doesn't trigger something and give the game full attention.
All I know is, the game can start with stutter, but if I restart it enough times, eventually it will start up with no stutter.

Stutter is still there. I forgot to mention that I first downloaded and played the game on PC 2, the PC with no stutter. I tried making a new profile with new game saves on PC 1, but the stutter is still there..

Greetings guys,
I am also getting some nasty stuttering, that I have been troubleshooting for quite some time now.
My Rig's equipped with I7-7700K and Aorus 1080TI, the monitor is 2560x1440@144hz with Gsync, game's running of SSD.
Btw, I am also using Razer peripherals and an xbox 360 controller. I have tried installing different versions of synapse, but to no avail.
What helped me is increasing the process priority, but did not eliminate the problem completely. I found some useful information on this topic here After applying this I am not getting hard stutters, but there is still micro-stuttering - mostly when rotating the camera. I admit that limiting the FPS to say 80 or disabling the gsync kinda fixes the micro-stutter, but the game does not run as smooth.
I also tried meddling, with nvidia control panel settings - like performance options, max pre-rendered frames, v-sync, but nothing helps.
I also tried disabling core-parking, freq. scaling, running game without steam or any other overlays and bunch of other tweaks, without luck.
I hope that some improvement or fix can be figured out for this situation, until then I will keep my fps capped low, to minimize the impact.
