Edit: Have left out the whole phys/mag armor resistances aspect on purpose, too early to comment on it.
While initially i too heard about it and said "f**k that s**t", the truth is that:
1) They didn't just strap it in while leaving the rest of the game intact, now did they.. there are skills and mechanics to go along with it, complementing it; combat is altered respectively, choices are there in light of it.
2) It can still be semi-bypassed anyway, assuming a type-focused and damage heavy build. I do not feel forced.
Leading us to:
3) It's (starting to feel) as if there are more options now than there were in D:OS 1, for those wanting a longer and more involved combat, tackling the new system, and for those wanting a more 'traditional' kind, by taking it out the window with pow pow powers.
Since the mechanics for both appear to be there, am starting to think i maybe rushed to categorize this as a negative thing.. just another instance of the 'new' seeming 'bad'.
Stil, needs a lot of time and a lot of builds to have some concrete opinion on this, so refraining to 'judge'

(As if anyone gave a shit, lol, but just saying ^^)
