Yyyyyeah... I want to find who decided to make Josephine invincible -_- Bad enough you have a bunch of dwarves carving their names in your trunk with their axes, but then Josephine can't be hit. Seriously, I am a wizard, have maxed out freeze, I-wanna-cast-magic-missile (meteor strike), and lightning, and a bunch more miscellaneous spells. I have a fun enough time evading her dreadknight as she pierces my feet with her neverending onslaught of needles, but not a damn thing will hit her. I literally emptied my entire pool of mana, 750 mana to be somewhat exact, half of which in meteor strikes because I noticed at one point it managed to do 10 damage to her so I figured it'd be effective enough, and the other half casting a physical shield on myself every two shots of meteor strike, but seriously, nothing made a dent in her. After maybe three strikes from meteor strike that DID damage her, it never hit her ever again. And after being a mage this long, meteorstrike comes out like machinegun fire! I swear my fingers have the strongest tissues in all my body by now. I need to know some method of killing her, for I think I've taken a chunk out of my desk with my dinner knife. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

A separate note... my freeze is maxed out... why in hell do I freeze characters and they STILL MOVE!? I assumed it was because I tried on high level boss creatures, but even on low-level orcs they still walk and damage me even though they are frozen in their animations. It never used to happen before, and I can't remember when it started happening. Up until now I've compensated on those nice little speed-freak enemies with limbs of the dead to slow their dang selves down to blast them into oblivion. I downloaded patch 1.33 recently, and I don't believe I've tried to freeze josephine again yet, but just in case it wasn't fixed, I'd figure kill two birds with one stone in this message.

Sorry for the longwindedness, and I greatly appreciate any help. Many thanks.

Freeze has a certain resistance check. For lvl 5 they may have max 30 spirit res IIRC. And to be honest Josifina has 75. Maybe you should try and give her a piece of her own medicine. Blind her! Or curse her a few times and then freeze her.

I also find it a bit weerd that even the lowest orc dont freeze anymore. It is possible that there res has increased. BTW witch orc are you referring to? The ones near the cave of Josefina? They are a bit stronger the the usual orcs. I think there res was higher there.

If you want more tips on killing her follow theselinks

What does blind do...? It dawned on me, could it be the reason that my meteor strike wouldn't hit her? Also, regarding freeze, if freeze wouldn't work, why would they still freeze if they are immune to it? It's annoying as all hell to freeze them but you're still being hit by this statue that's not moving. Anyway, if I were to toss a point into curse, could I cast it like several times on her and then freeze her even if it's only level 1? (curse that is) It's either curse or blind that I put a point into and it's only specifically to defeat her, because otherwise I think I'm fine to beat the game. Everything should fall into place after that, and hopefully I'll find a few books to give me a few more fun things to utilize in my arsenal. I definitely want to toss a point into deadly gift if that scorpion's such a good distraction, however where can I get the traps? I sell them all and the shops respawn. Trying to search every dungeon for one I missed seems a bit too much time for something I shouldn't need ^_^

Thanks again.

Watch your char: if you have a small white eye icon = you're blind, your spells won't work, not the targeted ones. The area spells still work.

Curse: Take the survivor curse not the mage curse. Level 1 should be sufficient, cause you can use it several times, it's cumulative - then freeze should work on her.
I did it like this:
Curse 4-5x, elemental hail - she was dead very quickly/fled very quickly.
Banish on her deadknights, they fade away.
Curse 4-5x, polymorph, lightning on Josie bunny, cause she was fast then and lightning follows the target.

Traps: Tingalf/Ars Magicana - Mpenzak/Verdistis, Blake/Ars Magicana sometimes. You should use Aura of Command on your scorpions, so they follow you and don't wander off.

What's the difference between both tastes of cures ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I mean : What do they actually do ?

Level 2: Targeted creature loses 5 percent offense and 5 percent defense. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 10 percent. Curse lasts 5 time units. Required Clvl: 16, Magic Cost: 14

See the difference? Mage curse can be resisted by spiritual res.
