Hello everyone, I am experiencing a problem with the Divinity Engine 2 editor. I have spoken with several people about it and no one seems to be having the issue nor do they have a solution so I thought I would come here and ask. Perhaps someone here can provide a solution or point me in the right direction to get things fixed. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
The problem is, the project settings button in the editor is not working for me, clicking it does nothing. There is a critical error listed in the message log box but that's all it says. You click Project, then Project Settings, "Critical Error" pops up in the message log box but no window pops up like it used to. Everytime you click Project Settings, the critical error message in the message log box ticks up by 1 but no other messages are given.
I can click Publish project and the usual window appears, it just doesn't work for Project Settings. Control + P only opens the preferences in the editor, not the Project Settings, like it says on the button.
This started happening yesterday, the day before that everything was working fine.
Things I have tried in order to resolve the issue:
I tried restarting steam, no change
I tried restarting the computer, no change
I tried uninstalling the Divinity Engine 2 editor and reinstalling it, no change
I tried uninstalling the Divinity Engine 2 editor and DLC required for it to run, and then reinstalling them, no change
I tried uninstalling the complete game, DLC, and Divinity Engine 2 editor, deleting all their folders and reinstalling them all but still.. no change...
I have tried loading a different project, no change
I have tried creating a new project but again, no change and the button still does nothing.
I am rather at a loss at this point and hope someone out there can point me in the right direction for how to fix this issue. It only started happening the day before yesterday and as I mentioned earlier.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my problem. I hope someone has some info, a recommendation or solution, or just something I can try that I haven't already.
Have a great day, peace.
