It's kind of odd that the Bear Cub, Emmie/Buddy, Slug Princess, etc don't have tangible resolutions (Slug being debatable) when so many later Pet Pal moments are attached to quests or end with some finality; in fact I had two different mostly blind co-op games where a player dropped Pet Pal after Act 1 because 'it was just different dialogue with extra XP'.
