Right so I went and saw it last night...and while the plot was only fair to decent (its the middle of a trilogy it is doomed in that way) OMG was it a cool movie...except the sex scene with all the metal things...ew....but yeah super duper badass...

Ive seen it twice since it opened and will admit the plot is a bit weak. The action was superb though. Yeah the sex scene was naff as was the whole soft porn "rave" at the start.

I went to see it yesterday - and the graphics and everything were absolutely the greatest! Did anyone catch that about 23 people being alive after the world came tumbling down? Do you think that means there's only 23 REAL people in the world and everyone else is a program or something?

Explanation: With the 23 people the Architect is referring to each time the One has made it to the source and things start again. At that point the machines kill everyone in Zion (About 250,000 people who are free of the Matrix), the One chooses 23 people to begin Zion again and the Matrix is reloaded. Apart from those 23 people, every other human is plugged into the matrix, providing power to the machines.
At the time the movie is set, this has happened five times previosly. The One is always indoctrinated with a love of humanity so that he will ALWAYS choose to save those plugged into the Matrix and start Zion again. Neo is the first to have one specific love and choose her over the rest of humanity. Now we have to wait till the Matrix Revolutions to see if he can save Zion and everyone plugged into the Matrix. With an Agent Smith running around in a human body..........things are going to be interesting.

Great explanation, thank you!
Okay, next question - what do you think of Neo's ability to stop the machines outside the matrix? Is the 'reality' that they are now existing in just another matrix?

I've just saw the movie, it's a good movie to watch BUT, the story is a weak attempt to get more cash with yet another sequel.
It's one of these days...

Dragh...the plot has to be weak....its the middle of a trilogy look at 'The empire strikes back'...by far the worst of the first three star wars.

I think the fight scene and the love scene were just too long, they could have added to the plot and taken a little away from that.
Anybody reading this who hasn't seen it should go, it is good! We're just being tough on it.

It actually makes a little more sense second time around. Not total sense of course, I think that would require drugs.

Actually I thought it made a lot of sense. It was a very good continuation of the plot. I almost laughed out loud at the 1000 agent smiths' fight. Excellent stuff. My girlfriend was totally confused though. (nothing new there)
Empire was the best of the star wars movies, by far. All Jedi had was a bunch of muppets.

The plot was good, only the very last scenes where neo does his matrix stuff in real...
Agent smith has become a worm, everything he touches becomes him, everything he touches becomes him, everything he touches becomes him, everything he touches becomes him. He was supposed to kill Neo that was what he's written for, but when Neo came back alive, he malfunctioned and bacame or made himself a worm.
The twins are awsome, very well tought out.

A shadow,
A movement
Is all you
Shall see,
When the icy,
Cold grip of death,
Holds you and brings you into,
The world of,
The dead

Ok so I just saw it again....and you know how smith says that he gained some 'new' abilities when he touched neo....I think neo gained some new abilities as well and at the end when he stops the machines....that is why he can stop them...what do you think of that hypothesis??

I reckon that could be pretty plausible. Also Neo is a product of the matrix down to its very program. I guess some of his abilities in the matrix are carried through to his physical being too.

Womble: A lot of sense yes, but not total sense Even seeing it twice I didnt follow every word the Architect uttered
Nero: That is a good notion. Smith did say that maybe he had exchanged something with Neo in return.
Jvb: Oh dear, I hope you didnt read too many of the posts here. There are some serious spoilers. Crazy dragon!

I still think it may be part of the plan that the 'matrix' might be 'nested' and that the real 'Neo' could be plugged into the matrix at another, higher level. LOL - we'll just have to see when the last one comes out in 6 months (?).
