I disagree on rating Peace of Mind so low. Besides providing a good bonus for your primary stats (5 on lvl 20) and increase your Crit by a lot (11 Wits on lvl 20), which is a must for an archer, clears Charm and Terrified, the two more annoying status when the enemies inflict on you.
Also, Superconductor and Binding Radiance is good but their range are limited, so I rated them 3/5.
Restoration is the first healing spell you get, cost only 1AP to cast, heals a good amount and if you have Living Armor on the target, restore a little of MA. So, IMO is underrated.
Arrow storm is awesome: the damage is through the roof, hit a lot of enemies and doesn't hit your party (I think at least).
Laser Ray is one of my favorite spells of the game, it have one of highest (if not the highest) damage of non source spells, can hit multiple enemies without having to decrease the damage you done and is available very early (Driftwood).

To be fair, the usability and usefulness of a lot of the spells depends on your play style. Maybe, is easier to agree on the really underpowered ones, like Dimensional Bolt

I think glitter dust is underrated. Whilst it has a very niche use, it performs its niche exceptionally well. If you are playing with melee characters and you run into an enemy with evasive aura, glitter dust, or another ability similar (like spider legs) is your best friend.

Apotheosis+skin graft i'd give 5 to, along with anything that reduces AP costs of skills.

Any heal I would rank super low (1 or 2). Healing is really bad since it means you need to mess up a ton to be able to use it.

I would lower the rating on Evasive Aura to 2 since it costs a source point and is hard countered by many mark type abilities.

Living on the Edge I would reduce to 2. I would give it a 4 if it was 100% reliable however there are quite a few enemies that will still kill you while the buff is active and I don't like relying on an unreliable mechanic. As a result of this I would also lower the ratings of Forced Exchange and Death Wish, since how effective they are is linked to how effective LotE is.

Cryopathy isn't completely useless either, but its usefulness is limited to solo gameplay, where you effectively want to skip a turn but not be penalized for doing so. I would give it a 2.

Glad to have finally someone to talk with.

You are quite right about the stat bonus for 1PA. I changed my answer to 3/5. As for clearing the charm and terrified states, in 152h, I was never charmed once and got terrified only once so I don't give a lot of credits to it even though it is still nice to have.

Well as Supernova, they are quite limited but their stat scalling make them really good damage sources. And I think that "blind" is a statut that is relaly nice until the end of the game.

Please reply to the "poll" thread with your own anwsers on all the skills. My post is not the average data of everyone but my own feeling smile
Sorry if it was not clear enough. I hope you find the time to reply to it because I know it takes a good amount of time frown

Well 3/5 is for me the perfection. It means it is not too powerful or too weak. It means you will use the spell when you need it. I rated other spells a bit higher like Healing ritual because that spell can, in addition to heal your party, bounce on undead enemies dealing massive damages.

I did not test it yet. Please add your rating when you will put your own answers in this thread ^^

This skill is definitly one of the main damage sources of a mage. I totally agree.

That is in fact what I wrote too. But it still will help to see if a spell is regarded as average or powerful by the community. But the notation will never be perfect alas.

Well, you can still use magic against an enemy in evasion. And you can still wait for 1turn or hit another enemy.
You also have skills that cannot miss even in warfare like "Battle stomp" which is way too strong in my opinion.

Healing ritual is also very useful against undead as a damage source. Even Restoration is really powerful against undeads.

Well there are a lot of really good combos like Death Wish + Living on the edge or Living on the edge + Last rite. And I never died using the skill. What kinf of enemy killed you during the buff ?

Could you also put all your grades in the other thread ? This thread is to discuss all together about the rating we put in the other topic.

I don't want to spoiler any major fights, especially if you haven't finished the game yet since a certain enemy in the final fight ignores LotE. I also don't consider healing spells useful as a damage source considering they only work if you are against undead or if you apply decaying to the living.

My perspective on skills comes from playing the game with 1 toon only on tactician, which is why I consider abilities that make melee characters able to damage evading enemies valuable. I either have a phys char or a spellcaster, I don't have both.

@N0x, Ok, I will add my rating for the spells later on the other thread.
BTW, is not easier to do a Google Survey? It will be easier to see the results and you can post on other forums and social media (like Reddit)

Thanks a lot. It is really interesting to know how people find each skill regarding their playstyle or time played.
Is it possible on Google survey to make a list of questions ? I search the internet for a long time but the survey I found could only ask "one" question.
If it is possible to have a more user friendly tool managing a lot of questions (at least 120 questions) it would be awesome !!! smile

I not the expert, but yes, you can create more than one question. I will try to make one (Survey) when I get back home.
And I was mistaken, isn't Google Survey, is Google Forms

completed the form so you can ignore my input in the other post.

I think we should be able to add some comments to give some context on our run because depending on what you do various skill can be good or not. Take the guy that is playing only 1 toon run he obviously rate healing skills very low

edit: and also i would like to be able to review the votes whenever i come back to the page

Noted. I'll add a first question on your playstyle and another one on the difficulty you played.
I'll do it tomorrow since it's 00:10 here :p

You mean in the google survey ? I set that you can see the answers of everybody when you have filled the survey once. Is it not working ?

I think he means that you cannot see the results without having to redo all the survey.

I have two choices here regarding the google form settings :
- Anyone can answer the survey but because the survey does not require an identification, it cannot know whom already filled the survey (and access the results).
- Or I set that people have to log to their google account to answer. It will remember you and I suppose that you will acess the results but the survey will allow less people to respond.

I chose option 2 with the login requirement then. I hope it will be better.

I deleted the previous answers because you will need to take the survey one last time to access the results anyways.

I can't believe people rate terrain transmutation higher than Apotheosis and Skin Graft. *Rolls Eyes.*

I am a little surprised too.
But for now, we have only 6 people whom took the survey. The numbers are too few to have a proper overview of the skills.

Maybe the combo apotheosis + skin graft is a niche thus less useful for hybrid builds for example.

It would help a lot if more people took the survey.
For people reading this post, the survey is HERE.
