Greetings, all!

Various games have had a New Game Plus or New Game+ mode where players could start over at the game's beginning but with stats, items, and abilities (except plot-granted ones) from later in the game by effectively importing a save file.

Game Master mode probably does this already as a workaround, but I'd like this as an option for those who beat the game or want to play the same character in a variety of friends' games without feeling like donating scratch-built characters.

That's not going to happen because NG+ is a tremendous amount of work to balance properly in a game which is leaps and bounds less complex than D:OS 2 is. And D:OS 2 has a lot of balance issues.

One thing Larian recently did was to strip all the XP from some low-level Voidwoken. As in ALL the XP, those encounters give no more XP. From a player perspective, an encounter which gives no XP is very unsatisfying, and it seems like a bug. But no, apparently it was working as intended. They could have reduced the overall XP in the act slightly, or if low-level XP was such a problem, they could have reduced the amount of XP they gave and also reduced some of the quest XP, but don't completely take it away.

I'd still like NG+ even if it's naievely done as in Chrono Trigger. You start with the EXP, skills, and non-plot items of a previous save, but enemies and loot are just the same as in a normal game.

The problem is that enemies have a fixed lvl. So, they have to redo all the encounters, which includes changing levels, skills, abilities, and so on, even the exp receives should be different (on the Arx you gain a lot more experience than fort joy for example). Besides the cap is rank 10 for abilities, and 40 for attributes. A NG+ only make sense if they remove this cap.
Also, like Stabbey said, the game already have some balance issues

There's a mod with a simple concept, scale enemies level to the same as your character, i believe this fix the balancing issues some people mentioned.

Really? Wow.

Especially for voidwoken, because they're so unrewarding to kill other than XP. They drop almost no items except murky gems that sell for whatever.

I don't know why so many people want NG+ in games these days. Because Dark Souls have it and it's cool?

NG+ makes sense in Souls games because it fits the narrative. You cannot simply shove it in a different setting without breaking the immersion

It's not about the narrative or RPG aspect, it's about the fact that the game is fun to play and you want to continue playing. You beat the game, your team is the most powerful it's ever been, and now.... there's nothing left to fight, no other content you can use those characters you've just spent hours and hours building and playing! The point of NG+ is to continue playing the characters that you've built up and going through the areas you've been through before but with harder enemies to test your mettle against. The game locks you out of Act 1 once it is beaten, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would think it would be fun to go back with higher level characters, with more abilities, and replay Act 1 with enemies scaled up to be a challenge. It doesn't matter that it doesn't fit the Role playing story. It's nice to have the ability to continue playing after the story is complete.

Maybe a dlc that allows you to use your career character in another game mode like survivor?
