One companion locked to recruiter - forever? Impossible to switch? Locked to a certain character or to player host?

So me and my friend re-played the first hours very quickly with new characters, and we talked and tested different companions in our party. We don't remember exactly who recruited who. But still want to progress origin stories, and want to be able to create bonds.

How do you know which person recruited who? Surely there must be a way in game to confirm the original recruiter?

If you kick a companion from the party - and re-recruit them with a different character - does the bond change?

If I play alone - without my friend, and control his character in our party - is the "bond" to companions which he recruited - there? Am I able to progress origin story, or is it just possible when my friend is playing.

We really really want to be able to experience at least two of the origin stories, making bonds with at least one companion each.

I really hope we did not destroy this opportunity by recruiting with the wrong person?

And if so - it would be really nice if there was a way to confirm if we have the "right" companions or not - before we played most of the game and just missed the origin stories cuz we controlled the wrong companions.

I am also wondering about this.

I am with 2 others. The host recruited an origin companion and when he gave control of that companion to me he got a message saying something like "companions should be controlled by who recruited them in order to not mess up quests" or something like that. Sounds like something he made up to not share the 4th character lol. But any info on how this works would be great!!

You can dismiss him and let your partner recruit him instead, but otherwise there seems to be an issue as far as I read, which is pretty disappointing.
