There are two issues I have with this game, one of them a game stopper. First the crafting is messed up. For example I know that mixing pixie dust with an ink pot and feather should give you a magical inkpot to craft scrolls. Doesn't work. Same goes for a needle and thread, it doesn't work. I can only craft a single scroll (resurrection) by combining paper with a life and water element. That's it. No other combinations work and without a magical ink pot I can't scribe them either.
The second big issue I have is the damn pipe puzzle in Lucian's crypt DOES NOT WORK! No matter how I rotate the blocks nothing happens. I was able to work around part of this problem by moving to one side of the control panel and placing a pyramid on the other side of the magical barrier, then transporting one of my guys. From there I transported him down to the location of the three valves that control the flow of the holy elements. By turning them I was able to get the elements to flow towards the various blocks. HOWEVER, the flow doesn't go where directed. It completely ignores the control panel commands as well as manual attempts to direct the flow from the ground inside the puzzle.
To the best of my knowledge this quest must be completed as part of the main quest. If so, I can't go any further and it's game over.
I loved playing DOS I but shelling out $40 for DOS II in the condition it's in is a rip off.
