I finally got so annoyed that I killed him, but that started a general war and I'm not quite finished there so I had to take it back. It's worse than a TV blaring commercials at you when you're trying to work. Give it a rest!

Really, it applies to all NPC's, and don't tell me it's "for atmosphere". Stand within earshot of Eithne, the only NPC in the middle of Cloisterwood and she cannot go even TEN (10) seconds without asking "Do you have it? Do you have the book I seek?"

It's not like this is a surprise, it was known from D:OS 1 and it was much-complained about then. I even pleaded with Larian to specifically NOT have any NPC chatter in D:OS 2 for this reason. How is the exact same "NPC verbal diarrhea" problem happening?

Lol, stand in Driftwood's town square while trading for 5 minutes and you'll go insane. There's a few NPCs that say the same lines every 10 seconds with close to no delay. Just over, and over, and over...

Typical LIZARD behaviour, they are PREDISPOSED to short tempers and aggression. I'm GLAD we're going to war.

Atmosphere is important, and no NPC chatter would feel really strange. As for the town crier, well, it's his job. The other Driftwood Square dialogue, though... It smells worse than a dozen rotten eggs dropped in a vat of vinegar.

(What annoys me more is that if you zoom in, no characters have lip-syncing.)
