I'm resurrecting this thread because its "before my time".
Some of my favorite RPGs in no particular order:
Might & Magic 4 & 5 - When 5 came out, you could combine the games and travel back and forth between them - super cool!
Anachronox - Western plot, characters, and animation in Japanese RPG style - awesome!
Divine Divinity - I think you all know where I'm coming from on this one.
Gothic 1 & 2: Seems like the best RPGs are European. Beautiful graphics, interesting characters, and I never felt alone(i.e. Morrowind).
Ultima 8 - I know alot of people hated it, but it was my first Ultima, so its kinda sentimental, like losing your virginity. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Ultima IX - Once I got the bugs worked out, I enjoyed it.
Planescape: Torment - The best D&D game ever, no exceptions!
Obitus - Extremely old game nobody knows about. It helped me perfect my graph paper mapping skills.
"Wizard's First Rule: People are stupid" - Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander
