happened to me a bit after getting on the nameless isle. suddenly all new spirits would not talk to anyone.
there's a few posts about this on the forum but not a huge amount. i'm guessing it's a rare bug.
I started over from scratch in the end since i couldn't find any fix.
i'm not very lucky i guess. in 3 playthroughs none have gone smooth. always something to mess up the save.
Wish i had the same luck that all most the reviewers apparently got.
