Here's an argument for you: quantity does not equal quality.

I know a lot of people, myself included, who don't even want to finish Morrowind, let alone replay it. Oh, it's big and free, but so what? The wilderness is huge -- and what is in it? Tons and tons of plants, wild animals, and identical egg mines and ancestral tombs and smugglers' caves. Countless of NPCs? Oh yes, but is there even one of them that sticks out? Memorable? None. I can count on one hand the number of NPCs in Morrowind with unique dialogue. Personality is, apparently, quite out of question. The quests are many, but most of them consist of either: escort person X from A to B, kill Z to get Y, deliver C to D. Yawn. Repetitive beyond words. The map and journal are also quite awful -- and no, I'm so not going to buy the expansion packs to see if this is improved any. The main story? Seems to be advanced just via FedEx quests. Maybe there's more to it, but I quickly lost interest and never got far into the main plot -- that's how uninspiring it is. Give me actual substance any time -- like witty dialogue, interesting quests, and meaningful interactions with NPCs.

You admitted yourself you havent gotten far in the main plot.Kinda like judging a book by its cover if you ask me.Finish the game then whine about how much it sucked.Atleast i can say i played through Planescape..Like ive said im not bashing it but just because a game has 1000's of pages text dont mean its the best by a long shot.By the way i remember planescape having many, many fedex quests itself.

As far as I'm concerned, open-ended gameplay is waaaay overrated. Yes, I'll go back to the restrictive PS:T, KotOR, and other "linear" RPGs, thank you. They, at least, held my interest for more than thirty minutes and contain characters that I actually give a tinker's dam about. [/quote]

It is??? i suppose if you like playstation 2 rpg,s it would be as such.Open endness and charecter development is what seperates the pcrpg, and console rpg,s apart. This is why console rpg,s are looked at as inferior to pcrpg,s.Like ive said before im not bashing it but imo its not the best.Maybe top 10 but to much diolougue is a drawback planescape.I dont mind reading text but the average player dont want to sit there and talk to 1 npc for 20 minutes. All that is,is a coverup for how short the game really is.
