This isn´t supossed to happen, even with Lohse. She is my main in my current PT and I was able to get to talk to him after I ve done the quest.
Usually proximity to the ancestor tree shouldn´t matter, the advocate is only getting hostile if you talk to it and then ignoring his request not to do so.
The only thing quest wise I can think of: Have you completed "The secret of the bloodmoon island?" It is tied to the ancestor tree, maybe this is causing it ?
