PAK mod location
Some recent pak mods say install in
Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\Mods

While most use
{GAME FOLDER LOCATION}\Data\Mods

Why the differencee?
Does it change the way things work, and is one better than the other?

UUID's in PAK names, again why?
I have been removing the UUID from the name, and as far as I can tell, could give the PAK a completely different name without changing the results in game.

Could I preset a load order by simply renaming the mods.
Prefixing with numbers, for instance.

Indeed I see no practical reason why the UUID is added to the folder name within PAK mods, and have successfully removed it from simple stat mods I have made. They still work.

So is there any practical reason, for adding UUID's to mod names at all, other than the extremely unlikely event that two mods would be named the same.

Indeed if two mods did use the same name, it's likely they will have the same purpose, and only one is needed.

Let me be clear, I'm asking for my own mod management purposes, not trying to change what the authors do.

Generally no, although in a few select cases the path is used to parse the mod's GUID before the mod is loaded.

We have several in-house mods that do not have the GUID in their folder name, so it will generally be OK, but it is unsupported. We can not fix bugs caused by anything you do outside the editor.
