Most hardware compatibility issues can be corrected in code. Look up compatibility testing. There are an infinite number of possible hardware configurations, so it is impossible to achieve 100% test coverage. Only a subset of the most common target hardware configurations are tested, which means that configurations outside that subset are far more likely to exhibit issues.
Even though it is impossible to get 100% test coverage. It is still the resposibility of the company releasing the game. It is pretty evident they did not have enough quality control/assurance. This also shows in the patches, which are creating a lot of new bugs, while fixing the old ones. And of course a lot of companies have these problems, but they adress these the right way. Also there should not be so many gamebreaking bugs, right after release, in such a highrated game. Larian should be very happy the game is so good (gameplay, design etcetera). I think they would have big problems reputation wise, sales wise, if it wasn't. It is also debatable, to assume all of these issues are actually compatibility issues. I had the same corrupting save game issue on the ps4, with the enhanced edition of dos1. Compatibility should not be problem on the ps4.
They should have delayed the game in my opinion. That would have prevented a lot of the current problems.
Refunds are up to the store where you bought the product. Here's GOG's Money Back Guarantee and Steam's refund policy.
The point he made was, that there should be a way for me to let them know, I don't agree with how they are handling the issues at the moment. Buying the EA version of the game, helping them testing the game, should be worth something. Decent support as an example, I've still been getting condesending responses from e-mail support, like I am an idiot. I might be one, but that should not matter. A lot of people are idiots, they should still get a working game at the end of the day.
Steam doesn't have refund posibilities for early acces. This puts me, as a fan, in a weird position. At one hand I want to support them to make the best game possible, but at other hand I don't want to get burned for doing it. I don't think Larian would want this either. It is possible for them to contact steam and make refund period happen, they most likely won't do that though, but they could.
