I agree, change them. I want them to be even less like generic fantasy elves and go hard into the tribal cannibal fair folk angle, because it's great. Not enough fair folk in fantasy these days.
BUT, it's past release so this is an entire remake of a race in the game which will almost assuredly only be done by modders if at all.
Smarm aside I don't see what you got in your post other than you don't like them? Breaking traditions? Like, Tolkien elves tradition or Divinity lore traditions? I'd agree to both, but the first is meaningless and the second is, well, sure, but all the other lore got flipped upside down so why not elves too? I also don't see how their appearance or tribal rituals affect the overall story? They're presented on the whole as noble woodland folk but also they nibble on pieces of corpses as a part of their grave rituals. Their cannibalism is only brought up three in the entire game, I think. Heck, one of the reasons they do it once is just specifically because it's a funeral ritual.
So feel free to elaborate because to me it seems you are making some assumptions about them you don't really have a good argumentative reason for it and I'd like to know exactly what you mean. But also, I'd suggest shedding your preconceptions about them because my experience with them was that they were hardcore Tolkien elves from start to finish, except with blood magic instead of music.
