I'll just simply say it to keep it short;

The new model for elves look badly disproportionate and the picture art of Sebille is nothing like her in-game model.

Elves being taller and leaner is fine but those alien like torsi, broad shoulders with ultra long necks with tiny little heads need to be adjusted. And that ghoul like posture is not helping at all. Why not create another ghoulish faction with members from all races rather than destroying already well established Elven race and lore?

In terms of lore, if I think about it, elves having cannibalistic practices is breaking all the elven traditions, however if only a faction of Elves has gone astray and has established cannibalistic practices (or joined the above mentioned hypothetical new cannibalistic faction) that makes more sense and I believe it will also allow for some extra twist in the game plot.

Anyway, these are my two cents on the matter. People may agree or disagree with what I have said. But these were my first impressions. I just bought the game yesterday and I was completely thrown off by this drastic change in elves in-game model and lore, but that's what Feedback is all about. I hope we can all help this already amazing game to shape into something even better.

Thanks.

I agree, change them. I want them to be even less like generic fantasy elves and go hard into the tribal cannibal fair folk angle, because it's great. Not enough fair folk in fantasy these days.
BUT, it's past release so this is an entire remake of a race in the game which will almost assuredly only be done by modders if at all.

Smarm aside I don't see what you got in your post other than you don't like them? Breaking traditions? Like, Tolkien elves tradition or Divinity lore traditions? I'd agree to both, but the first is meaningless and the second is, well, sure, but all the other lore got flipped upside down so why not elves too? I also don't see how their appearance or tribal rituals affect the overall story? They're presented on the whole as noble woodland folk but also they nibble on pieces of corpses as a part of their grave rituals. Their cannibalism is only brought up three in the entire game, I think. Heck, one of the reasons they do it once is just specifically because it's a funeral ritual.
So feel free to elaborate because to me it seems you are making some assumptions about them you don't really have a good argumentative reason for it and I'd like to know exactly what you mean. But also, I'd suggest shedding your preconceptions about them because my experience with them was that they were hardcore Tolkien elves from start to finish, except with blood magic instead of music.

It's both, this isn't a straight message box to the devs; but they read it. Don't feel pressured to answer me though, I was just curious about your opinions. Disregard it at your leisure.

I don't know, it always seems kind of strange to me when people encounter a new fantasy world with new lore and proceed to react along the lines of: "But these aren't the ____ I personally want and expected because in ____ they are different." Well, yes, it's a different world and story and at least for my part I'm ever so glad to see the same tropes we've already had recooked a million times over changed even the slightliest bit. I'd have been thrilled if they went even farther than that and abandoned a lot of the other generic stuff as well. In any case, same as you this is just my opinion and I can certainly see where you're coming from. I hope you'll give the game a chance anyway because putting elven lore aside it's really quite enthralling smile

From lore viewpoint, new elves look stirred quite a discussion. As you probably remember, elves in Divine Divinity and even Divinity Original Sin 1 looked quite similar to humans... So bringing lore into this is kind of tricky.

However, fortunately you are no longer dependent just on developers. There's some growing modding comunity for this game on the nexus database which makes quite interesting stuff, some even dealing with elven textures, maybe eventually also models.
