I'll be quick :)

Complete newbie here - just registered. Read good reviews and want to give the game a go.

How on earth do I "get" it? Is it purely a Steam download? Do I therefore need a Steam account? Do I need to purchase DVD's (can't see them on Amazon) and install from that media? I'm on a Windows (10) platform and meet the system requirements.

Information on the above is... spartan. Or perhaps my Google-fu is lacking.

You need a steam account for a purchase on Steam, or a "Good Old Games" account for a purchase on gog.com.
