The questreward is fairly trash since it's supposed to be a very easy boon to get exploring the city. If you cleared the cave obviously you've outleveled it.
And the compass was useful to me for a whooping 20 minutes or so, and then could never be sold for a reason I don't know since nobody wants it, at all. It would be great if we could return it, since there's plenty of good gear that gets taken away and the not-so-good we're forced to keep
