Heya!
So I want to create a GM map for my friends, and because I want to do some stuff that is not possible in GM, I started with the editor. However, Ive run into some basic operating problems that make it slightly tedious.

One of the main problems is controlling the camera. Im not talking about triggers or whatever, but literally just moving around your created map in editor mode.
Is there a way to move your camera up? So far I found I can move to the sides and forward, but no apparent way to just go up. At the moment I aim the camera up with the mouse, then press W, then move the camera back to the point of interest, but there has to be an easier way to go up without losing sight of what youre doing, right?

The second thing is if you can "slowly" move the camera. If I tap W just lightly, it jumps forward half a rooms length. I mean for placing walls etc its fine, but when finetuning stuff you put on tables like pots and jars, it is really tedious to get the camera close up for placement. I know there are the coordinate thingies at the bottom, but do I really have to fill in 3 coordinates everytime I want to finetune something?

If you hold ctrl while moving the camera, it will move more slowly. Similarly, holding shift speeds it up. I'm not aware of a shortcut to strafe up.

You can go into preferences and reduce the camera speed too. It's at 100 by default, I usually lower mine to 10, or even 5 if I work in small quarters.
