The ending cutscene/panels for Fane seem to be wrong(?) for the "choose divinity" option.
Previous to the latest patch there would be a somewhat generic cutscene displaying how you chose divinity and ruled somewhat ambiguously. Now the ending for "choose divinity" for Fane entails enslaving all of the mortal races and bring the Eternals back to the mortal realm. This cutscene is in line with the "bring the god-king back" endgame option, but makes little to no sense for embracing your divinity.
Regardless of the options Malady is generally pissed at you, and you feel like the decisions you made against the god-king were for naught. It really kills the mood, and made me ask myself "did I press the wrong button?" rather than, "this was a fitting conclusion to my story playing as Fane".

I also have this exact bug. It is upsetting. I invested time and thought into Fane's story and decisions, and then find that the game basically has no ending, b/c of this bug.
Watching a youtube of Fane's divine ending, as I've seen some suggest, also doesn't help, because what I am most missing out on imo is the interaction w/ party members (whose identities/attitudes/etc. are based on my prior choices) on the ship afterwards in the epilogue scene, with the context being that Fane chose divinity. That's not something a youtube clip can help with.

Bumping because this is still a thing.
Frustrating that after 90+ hours of playing and being extremely cautious about not sympathising with the God-king and the voidwoken all your choices are disregarded when it matters most. Also no interaction with Lohse who in my playthrough was Fane's love interest!
From what I can see these bugs were discovered at least 2 months ago - can we finally get a fix for it and finish the game properly???

Bumping again. Please help us poor folks, we love the game. To deprive us of an ending is too cruel. Thanks.

The ending is still bugged for me despite the new patch. Does anyone knows if it works only if the game is created after the new patch?
Edit: Tried making a new save after loading the one I have during my final battle (actually one shot away from killing Braccus). The game won't let me make a new one - saving progress seems stuck.

Good news for everyone still trying to figure this one out.
Thanks to feedback provided by Raze I confirm there's a way to get the regular divine ending for Fane.
Apparently the issue is that small voidwoken which appears just before you enter the final area with Lucian, Dallis and co and talks to Fane how great would it be to have Eternals back. Engaging the small voidwoken in conversation, no matter how the actual convo goes, prevents Fane from having any other divine ending save for the one in which you bring Eternals back to Rivellon.
What I did was - I cleared the room with levers and source-infused dolls and proceeded further with other 3 members of my party. I parked Fane far away in the back. This way, just before entrance to the final area the small voidwoken did not appear the the Fane-less party. I went past the door with 3 companions and in the last area Fane automatically rejoined the group.
After the final fight I chose divine ending and the cutscene, companion dialogue and epilogue acknowledged Fane as the new regular divine - without Eternals!

Holy fucking shit... seriously? Well I will try it. Sad we had to come up w/ such a convoluted solution, rather than a simple fix from Larian. Wonderful though that you found something...and thank you so much!

If Fane does not speak to the small voidwoken before entering the crypt, he can not bring back the eternals without the God King, and thus becomes a 'regular' Divine. That encounter used to be somewhere else, but was moved so it is pretty much impossible to miss playing with the party together, so effectively Fane will always bring back the eternals (with or without the God King). A dialogue option may be added to be able to choose the regular Divine ending for Fane, as well.

Please add that choice in the Definitive Edition. Being forced into this unexpected ending makes little sense...
