Here is a nasty quest breaking bug. I start the quest, go into the basement to fight/cure Natalie Bromhead. She summons her 4 elementals and the fight begins. But something strange happens during the fight (see clip below).
- First, at 0:56 a message shows that a magister ranger is performing an attack on some voidwoken, and then the camera pans to a scene above ground. You can actually see a magister avatar on my character bar on top. There are no magisters or void creatures in this quest or in the basement at my location underground. - At 1:35 the camera again goes above ground and shows a magister fighting two void critters, taking turns during my own fight in the basement. - At 2:35 the fight scene above ground continues.
So, it seems that as soon as I initiate the fight in the basement, another fight is initiated above ground which has nothing to do with the quest I'm doing. W.T.F ?!
The problem is that I never get the option to weaken Natalie and then perform a surgery. She keeps fighting until she's dead (I got her down to 9 HP), and even THEN the fight doesn't end, because I still have the void creatures on my character bar, as though I'm fighting them, while they're just sitting above ground! Here is a clip showing just that, after I've killed everyone in the basement.
I have to take combat turns to leave the empty basement. Once I get all my characters upstairs, they're out of combat mode. If I go back downstairs, I can proceed normally to talk to the healer.
The combat scene above ground takes place somewhere between the Black pits waypoint and the cellar entrance for this quest.
Here, Natalie is knocked down and has 9 HP. Combat does not stop as long as there are other enemies on my character bar. And again, those extra enemies are not even in the same building, they are above ground, completely out of reach or sight. So I don't know how my party even picks up any activity above ground.
If the 4 demons summoned by Natalie are the only enemies (aside from her) they will just disappear when you manage to trigger the dialog with her. But it probably won't work that way if there are other enemies involved.
If reloading doesn't help, you might as well go to the Blackpits gate to get that buggy fight out of the way first - if you're not too underleveled.
"We make our choices and take what comes and the rest is void."
The 4 elementals are irrelevant to this issue. I had already killed them all to get extra XP, and left Natalie for last. She kept fighting until dead.
Yea, I guess one way around this issue is to first take care of the enemies around the Black pits. But I just decided to end this quest by killing off Natalie. I think this outcome earns less XP though...
