I'd like to push a bug that I and several others have experienced and reported already, mostly because it desperately needs a hotfix.

Right now, a terrain is targeted with an obnoxious purple hue overlaying it if you try to shape or paint it. This makes terrain work quite a headache, particularly if you intend to design terrain with great care and detail.

I hope this is not an intended feature, or if so I'd like to ask for an additional setting to disable visual overlay indicators entirely.

Meanwhile, happy holidays!

Hi Composer,

This feature is working as intended, the blue hue is the selection overlay that all game objects get when they are selected. Previously, this feature did not work correctly for terrains.

You should still be able to paint without the selection overlay if you enable the selection interaction mode (1), right click the terrain and click "Deselect All". Then re-enable the terrain paint interaction mode and you should be able to paint without having the terrain selected.

I'm not able to replicate your suggestion. The moment I click the paint tool, it automatically re-selects the terrain. I've combed through preferences and the interaction mode panel and tested anything remotely suspicious to help. No success.

With selection interaction mode (1) I assume you mean the "Select Objects" mode. Which wouldn't make a difference regardless, as clicking the terrain painting tool immediately targets the terrain and makes the overlay visible.

Enabling edit selected only on the painting too doesn't make a difference either, as then you have to mark the terrain first. Which brings up the hue as well.

I don't wish to sound harsh, but as an intended feature, it's probably the most counter-intuitive yet. I can't express how strongly I am against the hue, as any and all terrain work in Chronicles of Divinity is at indefinite pause until I find a way to get rid of it.

Doesn't work for me either.
It's extremely annoying indeed.

I think I can get away with turning off the selection overlay when a terrain interaction mode is selected. I'll see that it's in the next patch, although I do not know when that will be.

A feature we desperately need. I also tried selecting and deselecting "Select terrain" but as soon as I click on my terrain to open all the imported TR_ paint tools, it gets a blueish tone that doesn't allow me to paint as I intend to.

I've found a workaround, albeit still unnecessary and the wish change of function still stands;

If you detach the terrain editing window from its docked area in the editor UI, and/or re-attach it to an attachment point while having the terrain selected will remove the hue and you can freely swap between the terrain tools without the hue until you deselect the terrain. Then it'll return to getting purple any time you target it, until you detach the terrain mode window again.

Thanks Composer! I'll try the workaround, I was starting to feel frustrated with the blueish hue.
