If you've got 8 Barter, you already have an excellent way to make money--sell all the stuff you loot that you're not actively using. Just doing that got me enough money to never have to worry about buying gear.
Also, you're aware you can craft arrowheads, too, right? Once you advance further in the chapter, you'll have enough raw materials to make a metric buttload of them!
