Level progression also becomes a problem, when nothing ever really changes, bar the health bars. The same set of skills used in Act 1 will still be used in Act 3, alongside ridiculously overpowered ‘source skills’ that really should just belong to a few boss type enemies and not be available to the player. The problem is that the base skills don’t evolve beyond damage boosts and the like, so very little seems to change, beyond the length of time it takes to end a fight.
Already in EA I sadly predicted this issue, which is mainly caused because high level skills have a ridiculous low requirement to be usable, even more compared to the first game. The only way of getting stronger in this game is by getting higher numbers, but this gets countered by the simple fact, that the enemies will just have bigger numbers too. The first game pre EE still has the best feeling of empowering in my eyes, partwise because of the Willpower/Bodybuilding partwise because of the how you you could increase AP per turn and/or decrease AP cost per use.
