That you can't see equipment of your teammates was alredy a bother in the first game and because of competativability, they are pretty unlikely to ever address it sadly.
Just put a check box to share equipment like you can share your journal would be enough.
Yeah it's an absolute pain that you can't do that. Hell I'd be fine just being able to look in the shop at the same time as him. They really need to work on the multiplayer.
