In DOSEE making money was easy - buy sliver/iron bars, turn them into axes/swords and sell back. Crafted weapons were also better than those from loot, so crafting was really worth it. In this one most crafted weapons are worthless, not just in terms of value, but they cannot be enhanced in any way, so you can always find better ones from loot or vendors.
The best way I've found to make cash from crafting is to buy all arrowheads from vendors, turn them into charming arrowheads at no cost, and sell them back.
charming arrowhead = arrowhead + jar of honey
I'm currently at Bartering=8 (Act II), and each arrowhead costs me 4 gold, and each charming arrowheads sells for 74 gold (varies with vendor's attitude). That's almost 19 times return on investment. I haven't discovered all of Reaper's Coast yet, but I've already found at least 8 vendors that sell stacks of 10 arrowheads each, and arrowheads always get replenished every hour. So every once in a while I stop questing, go through all the vendors, pay 320 gold for 80 AHs, convert them, and sell them back for about 6000 gold. Pretty good deal. This way I don't have to rely only on loot to make some money.
After making the charming AHs, I'm left with empty honey jars which I then refill at any beehive (there are at least 3 beehive locations around reaper's coast). That makes honey effectively an infinite resource, similar to oil, ooze, and water barrels. Those other types of arrows don't sell for that much gold. The more honey jars you collect, the faster you'll be able to convert all arrowheads, but even if you have just one jar, you can keep refilling it, but it will take much longer. I have almost 60 jars already.
Not to mention that charming arrows are one of the best types of elemental arrows you can have in your arsenal (I keep 20 on my ranger). Sometimes I charm 2 or more enemies per turn. There's nothing better than watching your enemies slaughter each other.
How do you guys make cash? Any suggestions?
