I think the main appeal for me is that I don't have to shop for weapons much. Maybe I'll try a lone wolf party with 2 mages to cut the shopping down even further! hehe
But with the dodging build, except for my tank character, I don't really need to shop as much for armor, either.
But honestly, probably the best build using Leadership would be a 3 crossbow party. You could still reach 60% dodging without dual wielding (The key is to snag up +Leadership items for the tank.), and you would have the +50% resistances. Also, you'd get Thick Of The Fight just from normal training. And you wouldn't need to spend as many points on memory.
But using regular attacks with dual wands has its merits. There's a sizable difference between 60% evasion and 80%. Even reaching 85% or more is possible (90% with a dwarf). Venom coating is a very significant damage boost, and there's also Firebrand (Though I don't think you can get Firebrand until level 15.). And you don't need as many memory slots. The problem with the build is that buying 7 wands with +crit chance is a nightmare! I guess what you could get away with, is buy 3 per level, and just update your main hand, and leave your tank with hand-me-downs.
Or you could go with an all summoner party. But I'm not a fan of all the preparation required every single battle.
