I have put one point into the alchemy skill which has worked out really well as I have been making plenty of minor restoration pots. Is it worth putting any more into??
No. One allows you to combine potions, which is all you really need.
I have found many lock-picks and so far only a couple of chests in the 3rd catacomb level have been the only things I think I would have needed them for. Should I spend a point or two into lockpicking?
It's worth getting lockpick lvl 5 when you can. One of the most useful skills in the game.
I want to use sword and shield as my weapon but so far the only good weapons I have found or seen for purchase are either axes or mace/hammer style weapons while I still only have a regular short sword. Should I switch my specialty over to axes or blunt style weapons?
Stick with swords. The catacombs are a total anomaly. Virtually every decent weapon you will find - and the only two good one-handed weapons - are swords.
Are there such items with mana or life steal attributes on them in this game?
Yes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I played Diablo 2 for a year or so and the way DD shows its item details seems to be similar. However, I'm not real sure what the color codes mean for the weapon names.... white = normal item? blue = magical item? what about the gray and green colored names?
No idea I'm afraid...
Is there a site on the web that has a detailed list of all the unique/rare/elite items in the game that could be found? Also, more information on the various charms to be found?
The stats on all items are randomly generated, so I'm not sure that would be possible...
Thanks for any help you guys can offer!
