Yes i'm not far in the game , i'm a couple of hours in fort joy and just figuring things out. I had a couple of fights (crocodiles , the arena , boss griff) and i see indeed that my wizard is the most useless of my team, not completely but most of the time i'm using shearing daggers and fossil strike with him and teleportation since i got that glove on him. But can i still pick skillbooks from other school that make him more powerfull? Now i have Geo and pyro skills invested on him.

The issue with the wizard is less that the wizard doesn't have enough skills, it's that enemies in the game have physical and magical armor. When you have only one person who is able to chip away at the magical armor, it will take longer to remove the armor so you can do permanent damage, compared to having multiple physical attackers, who can strip armor faster because more are attacking.

You can try to mitigate that by havint your Summoner focus on elemental casting, but the totems will pick random targets.

On Ifan i'm investing in Summoning.

About the wolf, i don't even have Source points yet to caste him. I heard you get those points later in the game. But should i replace the wolf or just keep him while i'm investing in summoning anyway.

You can't replace the wolf, it's a permanent skill. You can use the wolf, it's just that you can probably find better Source skills to spend the point on, and other schools with cheaper summons. (Most notably Necromancy.)
