me and my friends have noticed that while we play together there are NPC traders that we have not talked with yet and they are Tagged as hostile and we cant trade with them. we have also noticed this only happens when any mod is installed, not a specific mod just any mod, it starts with the kids in the raft on the starting ship, and spreads to the magester in the fort joy dungeon that you can save, Hon the little boy you save from the magesters, and the undead traider just after you escape fort joy. it has also been seen in several other characters on/in Driftwood.

please help

Have you tried switching who was hosting?

Does this happen if you each create a new profile and start a new single player game?

Try verifying local files: in the Steam library, right click on the game and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.
With the GOG version, in the (optional) Galaxy client, select Divinity: Original Sin 2 in the left column, then click on the More button, and in the Manage menu select 'Verify / Repair'.

we have verified files, its even happening in our single player files when we have mods on. We haven't however tried making new character files.

I'll do that when I get home

So i have tried creating a new profile like you suggested, and i thought it worked, but then i noticed the children at the scene when wendigo removes her collar and blows up, they all flag hostile, and were still hostile in the row boat, i have tried this with several races and characters. my roommate is trying as well and his go hostile at the fight with the voidwoken on the deck of the ship.

and now after several hours of testing we have discovered 2 different mods;
Initiative fix, for our roommate who plays the mod class chronomancer
Massive skill re-balance
are the two mods causing the NPC's to tag as hostile.

one of us will be notifying the mod creators that there mods are incompatable with eachother so others dont have this problem

i do want to point out however there is a glitch involving the couple near the square waypoint in driftwood. there have been several reports of people having hostile traders after talking to the husband

and thanks for your suggestions and help
