The problem is this playthrough would be our 4th one and my buddy isn't an RPGer and I'm doing my very best not to put him through the same quests again for a 4th time. He's not very patient when it comes to non-action-based games. The first time we played together while I was talking to people in town to further the story progress, he got bored and started shooting chickens in the town and shot the rooster in the town square and pissed off the townsfolk, so I had to revert back to a previous save because of his impatience with the game's lack of action!
With that note aside, he didn't tell me if the attributes reset, but we did try to reload an old save and go back into the problematic save with no positive results and we also reloaded the same save 4 times in a row without it fixing itself.
