Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Murder mystery question

So I just cleared out the catacombs, and come back to sell my goods, and George is dead. So I gotta solve the mystery right? Old guy tells me to investigate...so I do.

Now there's only 3 people in the village! The Dwarf, The old man, and his elf buddy.

No snake man, and the guy you first meet in the game is gone too! The info I got from the others is useless to me. Where did they go?

Here's a horrible theory. I got ambushed a while back by orcs, including the hellish wardrummer guy. I couldn't kill him so I ran. Well, turns out he followed me back INTO town. After clearing the catacombs, I found him in the village wandering around. By that time I was strong enough to kill him. Could he have killed these people that are missing?

If they're gone by design then that's cool, don't spoil the quest for me!

If this is a bug, or something, is there anything I can do to fix it?

Don't worry yet about this quest...it will take you a while to find him murderer, and not till you are way more experienced. But, no, it is not an orc.

Have you installed the latest patch? Joram (first house) can not be killed in a game started after doing so (neither can Otho, the dwarf).

Are you sure Joram and Goemoe (the lizard) are gone? Maybe they are hidden beside a wall, or something. Check again carefully, keeping an eye on your mini-map. If Goemoe is dead, a required quest is broke <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> and you will have to re-load a previous save in order to complete the game (you can get about 90% done without him).

Most of the healers (all but Mardaneus, the old guy) leave Aleroth when you have completed the escort quest, but until then, they should be in town.

Yeah I completed the escort mission too, so I guess they're supposed to be gone.

I installed the patch prior to starting the game, so I Joram is alive and well.....somewhere.

All the healers apart from the elg went to Rivellon village. You can find them at Ducal inn. As for the murder it is part of the game. Go and ask Mardaneus...

The healers are at the Blue Boar Inn. The Ducal Inn is in Verdistis. Just so no one gets confused.
