I'm not really sure if it's just a bug, but I tried to attack with many different two-handed weapons and only with some of them I can do aoe attack. So, how do I know (without checking in combat) if the weapon I want to use can do it?

You're probably referring to Cleave damage. This property is shown in the tooltip if the weapon has it. The tooltip would have +x% Cleave damage in it. You can toggle on basic attack mode then hover the cursor over any character and you should see a cone indicator.

Yes, I meant that, just english is not my native language :P I play the game in my language(polish) and the "Cleave damage" was translated very poorly to polish: "obrażenia wtórne" which I always understood as damage I receive when I hit somebody :P so thanks for explanation :)
