They are clearly allowed to aim AoE attacks at *another* target (who is not the taunting character), as long as the AoE does hit the taunting character.

In a fight just earlier, I taunted this enemy, Ruptured Tendons'd him, then ran far away from him. He was surrounded by other characters. When he got his turn, he walked two steps, then used Whirlwind to hit all the characters around him, completely ignoring the one who taunted him.

Is this like one of those loopholes that favor enemies so that you can't do stuff like what I did?

I don't get taunted very often, but I'm quite sure my characters can't do the same thing if they're taunted.

I understand that sometimes there is the need to give AI certain advantages to keep things challenging. I'm just wondering if, in this case, this behavior is indeed intended, or is it another mechanics that is not implemented properly?

Or am I misunderstanding this? I've always thought that Provoke actually makes the target chase after the taunter, not simply "hit the taunter if they can, otherwise just hit someone else like normal".

In the beta at some point (I forget when exactly) all the AI decisions were written to log (.txt) files.

You could look at these and see the numerous different scenarios the AI had considered and why it then picked the one it did.

It sure would be nice if you could turn it on again as it was quite fascinating to see how the AI worked.

To (not) answer your question, it depends if the taunt (attack me%) overrides other considerations (Glass Cannon%, stinking talent%, whatever else they consider%)

Yes I thought about it after making the post. It actually does make sense that the enemy wouldn't foolishly chase after someone just to bleed to death, even if he is taunted. Normally I would be glad that they can make smart decisions. But then I also realize that, sometimes enemies *do* walk around foolishly just to bleed to death because of Ruptured Tendons, and they are not even taunted then.

I've never used Taunt after it was changed to ignore armor in classic, to be honest, until now, so I have very limited experience with it.

So anyway. It would be nice to look into this log file. Do you know if the DE also makes this log file? If so, do you know what the file name is, and where it's located?
