IMO, all of those monsters are cliched and overused to death and beyond. Why make DD anymore cliched than it is already?
Planescape-esque monsters, now, or the more "exotic" D&D monsters... (Modrons, giths, to name but a few. Oh, and illithids. The tall, tentacled type has always made me quiver.)
