So I'm really into modding and really want to get familiar with the Divinity Engine 2 but so far I can barely get the thing running. I've followed all the install instructions carefully, but still kept getting the Glasses has stopped working error. After doing some research online, people have suggested setting the game folder to read-and-write; which actually did help, and it worked for like a day. Now it seems that the game folder reset itself back to read only, and every time I try to change it to read-and-write. It takes about 3 for windows to finish it, but in the end the folder remains read-only. It seems like I simply cannot get rid of the read-only status and without doing so the editor wont run. Any ideas guys?

Is there a crashdump file in the directory that contains glasses.exe?

Hmm, well I didnt realize that glasses.exe was an actual file. Cant find that. For crash related files, all I found was the errors.txt file inside the Divinity Engine 2/DefEd folder.

It's not, sorry. It's the name of the editor in our internal builds. The public version is called differently.

Ah. The reference is to a file in the folder of the "Classic" version of the game. You probably selected the classic version's Data folder instead of the Enhanced Edition's data folder. You can edit the file "The Divinity Engine 2\DefEd\Config\Config.xml" and change the "<DataPath>" setting there so it points to "Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\Data\" (currently, it probably points to "Divinity Original Sin 2\Data\".

That should fix the startup crash.

Know what, you're absolutely right. Chose the default data folder instead of the one in DefED subcategory. Works like a charm now.
