If you haven't played Neverwinter Nights 2, then you should play it. I'm sure you can get some good ideas from playing that game to better this game. There's one feature in that game that I really miss for this game. It had a function for spell casting called Quickcast. It would certainly make it easier to manage and use your memorized skills, Innate skills and skills from items in this game.

Nwn2 also have two optional hotbars function that can be activated in options, these can be placed on the screen where you want them.

In Neverwinter Nights 2 - Storm of Zahir they did something nice with the conversation dialog. They made it so that other party members could cut in and help out, if they had skills that could help with the situation. This wasn't just for companions members in the party in single player, but also for PC members of the party in multiplayer. It should be fully possible to do this here too and it would help a lot on choices of skills for the party members. When having a conversation with a NPC in this game only one character get to talk, while the other(s) just listen in and, if the person(s) listening in has skills like persuasion that can help the situation, then they can't do anything about it, because the party member(s) can't cut in and help out.
