I find one of the persuasion ability a bit annoying, Civil Abilities are given at every 4th level after level 2. What I find annoying about it is that, if you are taking persuasion skill, then you have to stick with that all the way to keep up with the increase in persuasion skill required for the conversations throughout the story. And items to boost persuasion skill is rare to find, too rare in my opinion, and because of that you have no room to add other skills that you want.

One way to fix this problem is to make the items with that skill less rare.
Another is to change the levels in which the civil skills are given from every 4th after level 2 to every 3rd.
A third option is to give the persuasion skill more value depending on the amount of skills you have in the various Attributes, other games that are based on dice rolls, like D&D add 1 point to the roll for every 2 points of attribute. In D&D, if you want to tell a lie, then you roll the dice, add skills in bluff + 1 point for every 2 points spent on charisma. What you have done with the persuasion dialog is a bit silly. You have increased the amount of persuasion points needed for success in some of the options in the dialog, instead of setting all at a set amount of skills needed, like in the dialog with Stingtail. For my character, Lohse with 2 points on persuasion the options are 1 Intelligence, 2 Memory, 3 Finesse, 4 Intelligence [Lohse] From what I can tell, option 1, 3 and 4 all require 2 points, but option 2 require 3 points of persuasion to succeed.

So how about give persuasion skill in this game 1 point extra per 3 or 4 points taken on an attribute since you do include them in the conversations anyway, and change the conversation dialog options on the matter to a set amount of skills needed depending on the NPC level? This way, if your character has 3 points of persuasion and enough to get 2 points of persuasion from one or more attribute it actually have a chance to meet the requirement of 5 points for a conversation, if there is an option in the dialog that has the attribute that give the character a good enough boost to the skill. This gives players more room for taking other skills as well.

Right now, with Civil skills, you are better off putting all your points into the same one each level until you hit the cap.

I've also made the suggestion that Civil skills should be given out every 2 levels, but there should be a cap on how many points you can put into any single Civil Ability which increases at certain levels. That would allow players to have more points to play with and spread them around, while not making those who invest all their points into one thing overpowered.

However, Larian has indicated that they are done with major changes to the game.

***

Each conversation has a different check on what dialogue options are better at persuading. Some conversation choices are marked as "always", so the target will always be persuaded by that argument. Some are marked as "never" - the opposite of "always". Some options marked with [Attribute] first check Persuasion. If your persuasion is X, you pass. If you only have Persuasion at X - 1, it checks your [Attribute] number. If your attribute number is greater than a certain score (Y), you pass the check.

But if your persuasion is lower than X -1, you can't pass even if your [Attribute] number exceeds Y.
