Hello,
My friend and I are looking to buy the PS4 version of Divinity - Original Sin 2 (2 consoles, 2 copies of the game), to play a campaign with a total of 3 people, 2 using split-screen on one console, and 1 playing on their own. From what I've read back when the game released on PC, this type of gameplay was definitely supported. But when it comes to the console versions I'm a little confused. Neither the game's official website nor any of the game's reviews mention any sort of omission for the PS4 version, yet the Co-Optimus website (
https://www.co-optimus.com/game/4627/playstation-4/divinity-original-sin-2.html) lists the PS4 as the only version that does not support "Combo Co-Op (Local + Online)". The only topic I found about this on the Larian forums (
http://larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=648569) had 2 replies, the first saying it definitely works, even though they never actually tried it, and the second saying it doesnt work without offering any specifics, and then devolving into a rant about player accounts and misleading marketing. So if anyone that has actually tried to combine local and multiplayer co-op on the PS4, or a Larian representative can please chime in: is what we're trying to do even possible on the PS4, or should we look at other platforms?
