I want you to know that I did take my time searching for information but I have yet to find what I need. Anyway, I already finished the game in Classic mode without any mods whatsoever. But next time around I would like to try a few though I have never modded a game in my life. Anyway, someone who has the GOG Definitive Edition said that in order to mod the DE correctly one must find the directory for mods is Documents - Larian Studios - Divinity Original Sin 2 (if definitive edition it will be the same location too) - Mods. Do not install them in the regular game directory as that will cause issues for GOG version or not even work. For downloading just download the mods files or zip file and extract it to Documents - Divinity Original Sin 2 - Mods. The last step is to open up the game, activate mods check in the start menu mod section. Relaunch the game. That last part is a onetime thing.

Okay, this game is on my E hard drive where all my PC games are located but this is what I have: E > Program Files (x86) > Galaxy Client > Games File > Divinity - Original Sin 2 File > DefEd File > a Bins File and a Data File. The Data File does have a number of items with PAK. Anyway I have searched my E drive time and again but I have nothing labeled Documents - Larian Studios - Divinity Original Sin 2 - Mods.

What am I missing? Thanks.

It should be under your windows user's doctuments folder. As an example, mine would be...

C:\Users\Composer\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\Mods

Thanks much The Composer for answering.

Well now what threw me off was the fact thsat though the game is on my E drive what you posted was found on my C drive. My mistake was not realizing it was even there though I directed the installation to my E drive the C drive does have \Users\Me\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\ but it is without Mods.

The only other question I have is where do I add the Mod folder? The C drive Definitive Edition? Thanks again.

The forementioned mods folder under documents is only where you'd place mods downloaded from Nexus etc, to use in modded gameplay. I am under the impression you only mean to play the game with mods, rather than make mods yourself, right?

If so, you'd just need to place downloaded mods' .pak files under \Users\Me\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\\Mods\. If there isn't a \Mods\ folder there, just create one, then start throwing those juicy .pak files in there from the mods you've downloaded smile

Yeah, you are right. I only want to add a few mods and not attempt modding in any way, shape, or form. I want to spare humanity from my lack of creativity. And I do need to add a Mods file. Do I add it as \Mods\ or just \Mods with just one forward slash?

And if I am understanding correctly I don't need to add them in any particular order as the game itself will take care of processing them, correct?

Yup. You should place them inside the Mods folder under \Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\, then you handle the rest from the mods menu ingame. Most mods are fine regardless of load order, except for those who has a core mod they depend on, or otherwise specify where they should be in a load order. So just keep an eye out for details about that in mod descriptions.

If nothing is mentioned, it's likely no relevance where in the load order they are smile
