This is quite a stretch but has anyone in this forum heard of the Sedona Method? Does anyone here know it well or use it a lot?

Thanks

It's a way of letting go of feelings..The basic idea of this method is: "Feelings are just feelings and you can let them go"..I just had questions about it and wanted to know if anyone had the answers. If you really want more info, type in Sedona Method into any search engine...

Thank you

It does not have anything to do with a movie. It's a way of letting go of feelings. The idea is not to hold on. When you let go of a positive feeling it gets better. The idea is to drop the habit of holding on or resisting...When you resist a negative feeling, it persists...When you hold on to a good feeling or have an attachment to it, it goes away...The idea is to let go of your resistance to the negative and your atttachment to the positive.

...Actually, this method was discovered by a person within the US who you would think was anything but buddhist but I guess you can say some of his ideas were related to it...

it's very similar with the buddhist idea of removing what causes suffering within yourself, ie; if you want something you can't have, that causes suffering so simply change what you want.
like letting go of negative thoughts.

thats all i meant.

How did you find that website and why are you so giddy about it? Oh yeah. It's not about changing what you want but more about letting go of your attachment to the point where it's ok whether you have it or not. This is known as detachment. Ironically, some believe that detachment makes it more likely that you'll get what you want. By the way Faile, is that picture near your name really how you look?

by changing what you want, isn't that letting go of an attachment? like letting go of thoughts or emotions that cause suffering...
i guess i can't really explain myself well... it's not about wanting, i just used that for an example.

no, my avatar is not me, it's joan jett.

I let my feelings go ... I always have since early childhood. Unfortunately, some of them came back. With a vengeance.

Should I chase them away? Or just wait until they get bored of me and wander off again? No hurry for an answer ... I really don't care.

No need to chase them away, they go on their own and hide in closets....sometimes for years!
life is full of distractions, you just gotta pick the right ones!
